Harbor freight 7018 stick electrodes and Longevity weldmax lc-518d multiprocess stick tig plasma cutter. longevity-inc.com I just got this machine and I just wanted to try it out. It’s raining outside and I just felt like burning some rods. these are harbor freight rods and they are not bad but they are more expensive than lincoln electric rods at home depot. I’m not doing any tig welding or plasma cutting yet because I have not hooked it up for that yet.

Is it possible to make an arc welder with a car battery, jumper cables, and electrodes?
I would think it’s pretty much the same concept. I’ve never welded before, but the thought just popped in my mind and I thought I would ask it.
