Can I plug it into the dryer plug which is a 240 v, 30amp? How high can I run the amps up on the welder before it blows the circuit breaker? And would it only trip the breaker or would it damage the welder or wireing from the breaker to the dryer plug. I’m basically trying to find out how high I can turn up the amps on the welder before it will trip the breaker.

I’ve never had any experience with welding, but with little direction, I can learn how to. I am on a budget and gathered up the courage to weld the floor pans myself. Anyhow, I found this 90 amp Flux Wire welder at Harbor Freight Tools for $99. I would like to know if this particular welder would do the job. I know there are MIG welders that would do a better job, as i heard, but like i mentioned earlier, i am on a budget. I would really appreciate any feedback.

My machine has a (+) post that the torch is connected to.
Can I just take the spool off, disconnect the torch, and in it’s place put a wire and rod holder?

Or is an arc welder voltage / frequency / something else different?

I know this is kinda going backwards, but it seems like it would allow me to make deeper welds and also work with different rods for Al and Stainless without gas.

Can I do this?
