Anything that involves your health should not be done drastically as doing so will really make some serious effects. It is then necessary for you to make sure that you will use only those that will promise long-term results and not something that will promise instant and magical effects. So if you encountered some meal plan or exercise routine that promise you to get rid about 10 pounds within just a day, it will do you good if you will just stay away from them.

In order for you to lose body fat, it is necessary that you employ some cardiovascular routines with your plan. This is essential because this will help you to drastically reduce the calories in you. Some of the activities that you may want to try are swimming, running, biking, rowing, and a whole lot more. In fact, there are already several people who consider these activities as hobbies and not just as mandatory exercise regimen.

Weight training is also a very important step for you to lose body fat. This will target some of the muscle tissues that need to be strengthened so that they will be leaner. This is necessary because as you perform the routines, energy is required. However, there is a need for you to be careful with these as some routines are very complicated and hard to execute. It is for this reason that you may need a professional trainer that will help you out. Trainers will also see to it that you will really follow the right form and that no injury will take place.

However, more than these physical activities, it is also necessary that you watch your diet. You already know the kind of foods that you need and those that you have to avoid. If you are unsure, you might want to consult a nutritionist to help you out.

Same stuff they use in industrial grade paint stripper!

@Sturgeonstairway GEEZ! I used to dip my hands in that carb cleaner (in the 1gal can) to fish-out the parts. Never had a problem. Sounds like I was lucky! Your advice was helpful- I’ll make sure the orifice and passages are very clean. It’ll prob’ly help a lot.

You could also go big and soak it in a methylene chloride based cleaner for an extended period (NAPA – Mac’s Carb Cleaner) – very expensive, however, and will burn the skin right off your hands if accidentally splattered and not washed off completely (I know from experience)!

It is most likely some mild carbon fouling in the main nozzle jet – they have to be pretty spotless for an even flame – kind of analogous to a beat-up garden hose sprayer nozzle. Toothbrushes/small wires, a little xylene/toluene based solvent (carb and choke cleaner spray) and compressed air can work wonders.

I fired-up my C&L after reconditioning it. Talk about easy and reliable and… not as dangerous *feeling* as I had anticipated. It instilled just enough confidence that it’ll probably trust it too much and then something bad will happen.

The flame gets nice and blue and jet-like but it pulses a little. Can you shed some light on why this might be? I was going to clean my jets just for good measure. I’ll have another look at zangobob’s site.

    thanks

@GK1918 This info is very helpful to me. Thank you!
I have a Lenk alcohol burning torch and a nice quart sized Clayton and Lambert.

  • HVACBuckles:

    awesome

I got on this few years ago & hunted down my fathers. I got 4, one exactly like yours.
At my Napa you can get accelerator pump only and not the whole carb kit. Just
match the diameter/good ta go. I do use pump gas, but I just crack it to fill the
trough then lite, then when going I use that one on another to heat it to atomize.
Perfect. Cheap to run I use them all the time because I do not come from this
new world because its brain dead.

@Sturgeonstairway i’ve seen a few people trying to sell them for 50 bucks at a few swap meets. thankfully i didnt pay a dime for either of my torches. i wined to my uncle about him giving me the C&L when i was still pretty little, so he finally gave it to me. the craftsman is a great torch and i found it in the basement of a relatives house and they gave it to me. everyone seems to be excessively afraid of these torches. i figure its a tool and it has to be used carefully like all tools.

Seen quite a few of the Craftsman torches, built pretty stout. Quite a few old C&L’s on ebay as well as antique malls around the country (Don’t let ‘em soak ya for more than 10-20 bucks though, they’re not THAT valuable!).

i’ve always loved these torches, ever since i first saw one in a silent movie when i was about 5 years old. i got my first blowtorch when i was ten. its a clayton & lambert, but its missing a couple parts and it has a horrible check valve. its a really early torch and i’m not exactly sure of what model it is. however i also have a craftsman that is complete and i fixed the check valve. i just lit the craftsman for the first time a week ago. i’m 17 and i have an antique working blowtorch

Great video. They’re making these again, and I bought a new one on e-bay to fire my aluminum furnace, but the instructions it came with were in Russian! This helped explain how to use it better. Thanks!

  • homebrewpower:

@sturgeonstairway How long will the lamp run for on one charge of compressed air before it requires pumping again??

  • NamesROverated:

@anthacdc maybe you have a paraffin torch?

  • AXE2501:

got one myself, it is a bit tempermental til running a temp, plus i use premimum as the fuel source with a hint of octane booster

  • Sturgeonstairway:

Sounds interesting. It might have been removed at one time (typically they were mounted to the tank intake tube with a set screw), or maybe that indent WAS where you put the gas (sounds dangerous – but hey, a lot of things were 100 years ago!) Email me a pic of the torch, and I’ll take a closer look – chaz360@netzero.com

  • anthacdc:

nice video, but my blow torch doesnt have a flash pan, but the tank has a indent is this were i heat the nozle with some gasoline?
