Welders and Its Types

Welders are the welding machines that do the welding process and it is a well known concept that there are different types of welding process available and each type has its own welding machines. In this article, we are going to discuss in brief about different welding machines and its types. First we are going to see about plasma cutter, it can be called as the child of modern invention and it uses the process of science in its process. Yes, it uses the plasma gas and performs both welding and cutting. Totally there are nine plasma cutters available and here is the list of those welding machines. Super cut 40, super cut 50, super cut 50p, power plasma 50, power plasma 60, power plasma 70, power plasma 80 and power plasma 100 are the different types of plasma cutting machines available.

These machines come under the category of inverter type of welding machines and the first three type falls under the category of Toshiba/Fuji mosfet and the remaining falls under the category of Infineon IGBT. The users can typically use this machine in all industrial processes and it is designed in a portable way such that it has torch track operation and adjustable post flow cooling. This machine is easy to operate and makes you feel comfortable. The next welding machine that is on a row is tig welders and it is the most widely used machine and it is appreciated for its economy and portability. In the field it makes the repair very easy and can weld any type of steel or stainless materials. It can fit into any settings and afford unique combination of amperage and features.

There are five types of tig welders available and they are power I tig-200, power tig 200DX, power tig 225 LX, power tig 250 EX and power tig 315 DX. To start this unit, the minimum voltage required is 220/240v and it affords stable and consistent welding parameters with foot pedal control as a standard feature. Power I mig160, power I mig200, power I-mig 205 and power I-mig 250p are the different mig welding machines available and it is designed to serve all industrial purposes and comes with features such as arc force control, digital display, spool gun capability and consumes low power. Power arc welders and it also commonly referred as stick welders and there are two types of stick welding machines available and they are power arc160 and power arc200. This machine is leading the industry with the price and the performance and it provides excellent arc characteristics.

So when it comes into welding process, there are different types of welding machines available and the user can weld any type of metal with ease and can achieve smooth welding characteristics with high duty cycles. Based upon your usage, select a machine and enjoy the benefits of those machines. Select a manufacturer who can meet your demands so that you will be satisfied with your purchase.

4 of the main things you need to know for Mig Welding Aluminum are : http//:www.weldingtipsandtricks.com 1. you need a spool gun 2. push dont pull 3 spray transfer does not sound like bacon frying 4. use more stickout than you would for mig welding steel Mig welding aluminum is just plain more tricky than mig welding steel. Everything is a lot more sensitive. Wire feed, voltage, and even the flow of shielding gas makes a difference. You go thru a lot more tips….thats just part of the gig when you Mig weld aluminum

what model is capable of using the spool gun? my friend said he has a millermatic but the gun doesn’t work with his model. I have a big Hobart Powerweld ac./dc stick welder/generator (16 hp ohnan ) that I want to trade for a millermatic that can do aluminum.

  • LowCostCncRetrofits:

This weld looks pretty good, may I ask you what welder and spool gun were being used in this demonstration?

    Thanks Steve

you can weld stainless steel to carbon steel….

  • mta415:

@Chadscarpetcleaning use a stainless steel brush and use it only for this, gas is straight Argon or an Argon Helium blend if you need more penetration as ionization and thermal conductivity is much higher with a Helium blend over straight Argon. I guess it will depend on the thickness of what you are welding. Plus Aluminum is very picky, gotta be clean and try to “push” the puddle if you can, the shielding gas tends to cover better when pushing.

  • Chadscarpetcleaning:

Can you do more videos on mig welding aluminum and stainless steel, and prep and what kind of gases. Thank you

  • lb4906:

Also when mig welding aluminum you have to use a smaller diameter aluminum filler beacuse of expansion. IE: I use 0.030 4043 aluminium filler with a 0.035 tip in my 3035 Spoolmate. I have the Millermatic 210 with a 3035 Spoolmate and it can do anything. I have used it for several years now with not one ounce of trouble. Stainless comes out very nice with a mig, but I recommend you spring for the large roll so it can thread out easier. The small roll can bird nest in a heartbeat.

    @97gsxminus1bolt It matters.

  • 97gsxminus1bolt:

You make it seem so easy!!! I keep getting burn back on my spool gun. Does the alloy matter? or is 5356 good for everything?

  • dlewjr:

nice weld. what was you amperage?

  • Dave1643:

@chunhaylee Depends on how thick the Aluminum is, and what joint or groove you are dealing with. I don’t think you have to use a spray transfer on everything with aliminum.

  • cgrobe21:

((((YOU REPLYED: Always 100% argon on aluminum, c 25 will give you bad charring (your welds will look black and may have pinholes))))

Cgrobe21: Thanks for the tip man. I’ll check that out. Yeah I hear you on the pinholes. I definitely dont want that. That would equal leaks when pressure testing fabricated gas tanks and such. Thanks again.

  • weldingtipsandtricks:

spray mode is the way…when you start to enter into short circuit mode, things dont go well

  • chunhaylee:

Can you weld aluminum in short circuit mode? Or is it only doable in spray mode?

  • MilleniumYT1300:

always 100% argon on aluminum, c 25 will give you bad charring (your welds will look black and may have pinholes)

  • metalration:

Looks like fine aluminuminum welding. How do you keep aluminum from distorting? or does it?

  • cgrobe21:

what diameter wire are you using with the spool gun? I never tried aluminum before, but would like to get more into working with aluminum. The wire type, is it a flux core and your using argon gas?

  • MrCoolhandmac:

I use a wire feed, 10 ft lead with aluminum all the time. Teflon liner. Those spool guns are a nightmare. Not good for production work. Give ya carpal tunnel before the weld cools.. .

  • brownskidmarks:

yes you can thats true, get yourself a roll of stainless wire change the feed roller, and get urself some ‘pure argon…. pure stuff is different than argo shield.. pure argons used for alloy and stainless(can be used on black steeel but very expensive for that… you would be amazed what you can weld with a mig when shown..cheers

  • combat1con:

Thank you very much, have a test tomorrow for a job. Great help

  • Joeysper:

You can weld stainless steel with a mig.

  • cajunhillbilly:

For good welds on mig aluminum,a good stailess steel brush should be used exclusively to clean the aluminum prior to welding or stainless wire wheel. Clean aluminum always welds better.
Also it is a faster moving weld, slightly side to side.

  • alexmma1:

nice but mine is better you wont need the wire brush

  • treetopflyersofva2:

Are you also using High Frequency?

  • cpu64:

You do realize that this is a video of MIG welding aluminum right? It can be done, just not with my current setup. But I do have a TIG now, no you don’t need to get all stressed out ^_^

  • tupacash:

holy crap man u carnt weld stainless steel with a mig gun or spool mig gun with aluminium wire dude try using a tig welder thats if you can get hold of one
