    @Fire4FX lol its fine

  • Fire4FX:

Should I not be looking directly at the weld in this video so that I do not go blind??? I’ve always wondered if it’s harmful to look at welding directly in a video.

  • BadRonald1:

That was o.k. Just wasn’t informative enough.

  • GODZILLAMANASS:

@harleypiper you need mig with shielding gas

  • ScottysDetailing:

Very educational video. Thanks for your time putting it together. I’m doing some body work on a personal vehicle and I can use these tips. Why do you use the compressed air on the weld?

  • michael1703:

o.41 is he welding to paint?

  • thanxx:

Hey man you certainly have that mig sussed.

A few helpful tips that werent mensioned in this vid would be: The metal shouldnt have any gaps when your done or after grinding is done. A good mig machine also would have about 6 different out put ranges, which means the thinner the metal the less power youd wanna use. Put the seeting on about 3 or 4 after the welding is done then weld over the first weld youve done or else youd just melt the metal (if thin metal).

  • majorrojam:

Dont use stick welder that doesnt work.
    Try mig.
Practice on sheetmetal from an scrapyard.

  • harleypiper:

i’ll be practicing on my sons old honda side panels that he just replaced.
I’ve tried stick…and I’m just too nervous for it.both my machines are tiny home/DYS models I dont need any bottle gas.

  • drewmotohead:

  • JCVDFan1:

  • McElhinney65:

It’s 52 minutes long, he discusses buying a welder, set up, then lap, butt, plug. He’s a very good tutor, very clear. Can’t wait to get in the garage at the weekend.

hey man. If you know of any body work tips for a 72 chevy blazer please pass them my way. i need to replace my back side panel, but i have no idea on how. i have most parts and basic materials..info and mechanicks background, but new to wedling n stuff. thanks

  • lunk71:

i like stick / tig better .. mig seems to take the individual skill aspect from welding.

  • McElhinney65:

I’ve just ordered this DVD. Fingers crossed.

I bought this video after watching this on youtube. It’s well put together, there are some questions I would like answered but they are more around doing a floorpan than the welding technique itself. Totally worth the money. This video probably helped my welding more than anything short of actually getting someone to help me and showing me in person. Hearing the difference between not enough current and too much wire really helped tune the ear when welding.

  • HayateAce:

Great vid, but make it about 10 times as long.
    :)

  • blackpridentc:

arent you not aloud to weld on cars ??

    Hi Creig,

I’m restoring my Austin Healey Sprite MK IV and have been doing some sheet metal work. My question is how do you MIG weld sheet metal (continuous weld) without distorting the sheet metal. I had a section of the front fender in which I cut and shaped a new section for but to be safe I only tack/spot welded it to avoid heat distortion. Worked out great and I used 3M weld fill to seal it off. Question is can & how can you continuous weld sheet metal. Im using Mig & Argon Gas.
