Is there anyways I culd know the life of a weld? Welding Iron to AlUMINUM?

I have a project where I need to weld an achor ( an aluminum made mushroom shallow water anchor) to an iron made leg…..I am planning on Explosion welding……please tell me if any source is avialble to know the life of the weld if the weld goes successful

Most likely last longer than your boat. Why does it need to be welded? Why not attach by a mechanical method. Explosive welding is not a practical method in what you are trying to construct. What is your experience in using High Explosives in joining bimetals?

Explosion Welding couldn’t be used for this application…….

It’s generally only used to to make clad sheets and clad piping. I.e. welding one thin sheet of material to another.

You might as well hire a welding shop to fabricate a new leg for you out of aluminum, then weld THAT to the anchor. This would be a relatively simple matter. Note: not all aluminum alloys can be welded successfully; some cast aluminum alloys are difficult or impossible to weld.
