Is It Possible To Make An Arc Welder With A Car Battery, Jumper Cables, And Electrodes?

Is it possible to make an arc welder with a car battery, jumper cables, and electrodes?
I would think it’s pretty much the same concept. I’ve never welded before, but the thought just popped in my mind and I thought I would ask it.

Plastic Repair

PLASTIC REPAIR

There many ways to repair plastic. There is epoxy, plastic welding, and glue.

Plastic adhesive- glue made for plastic. I haven’t had any luck with this. Had problems with it sticking to some types of plastics.

Epoxy repair- This is the cheapest way to repair plastic, but will not work with all plastic.  In time will fade or discolor and chip. Had problems with it sticking to some types of plastics.

Plastic welder- Many people have never heard of plastic welding. But this is probably the best to use with all plastic, but will have to know what kind of plastic it is. So that you can use the right filler rod (welding rod) .Now with plastic welding you have some choices here. Airless, Hot air, ultrasonic. The plastic welder will pay for it’s self in 1 or 2 uses. Here are your options when looking for plastic welders.

·       Hot air plastic welder- with this type of plastic welder. The unit will have to have an air source. There are 2 choices for this type of welder.

1.    A hot air plastic welder with its own air source. Some type of blower in the unit to force hot air out the tip. Some of these welders have a temperature control unit on them.

2.    A hot air plastic welder with a hose. These kind you will need to purchase a compressor with a regulator. This plastic welder you can control the air pressure with the regulator. You should use around 3 to 4 lbs. or less of pressure when welding with it.

With these kind of plastic welders. You have to learn how to heat both the base material and the filler rod at the same time without burning or discoloring of both. It will take time to learn how to use this plastic welder.

·       Airless plastic welder- These is probably the easiest plastic welder to use and can repair virtually any plastic.

You will not have to have an air source with these welders. There is very little learning curve with this type of plastic welder. It’s not like metal welding at all. You heat the plastic base material and filler rod and the 2 join together forming a bond sometimes stronger than the original plastic item.

1.    Airless plastic welder without a temperature control: These are easier to use than any of the above, but do have its limits. You have no control over the heat. Great for ATV & MOTORCYCLE fender’s, Kayak’s and Canoe’s.

2.    Airless plastic welder with temperature control: With this unit the heat can be controlled. This will allow the user to plastic weld many different types of plastics. ATV &  MOTORCYCLE fenders and other plastic parts, Kayak’s and Canoe’s, Automotive plastic’s, house hold plastic’s and many other plastic item’s in and outside of the house.

·       Ultrasonic plastic welder- These plastic welder are probably the best you can buy, but the price tag is very high on these types of welders. So usually bought by businesses.

How Big Of A Generator Do I Need To Power My Stick Welder?

I just got a Lincoln Electric 225 amp arc welder and I don’t have a shop or garage with a 230 volt plug so I was just wondering if I can get a generator that could power this thing so I can use it.

How Do You Know How Many Volts & Amps To Use When Welding Different Thicknesses Of Metals?

If I have two 1/8 inch thick pieces that I am welding together doing a; butt weld, horizontal weld, vertical weld, corner weld, or a T-weld how do you know what the voltage and amperage are to be set at?

What To Look For When Buying Eco-Friendly Nursery Furniture

For infants, parents may prefer to have a bassinet. Since bassinets are made small, they can easily fit in the parent’s bedroom. At least for the first month or so, they would like to know that their little one is safe and getting the rest that they need. This piece of eco-friendly nursery furniture is made from bent plywood.

When the child is a few months old, then it’s time for them to get a crib. Eco-friendly nursery furniture usually has cribs that provide a sturdy and strong structure. The crib would include a fixed rail made from Birch wood. Parents will find the veneers to be of high quality, made from either maple or walnut. In addition to that, the crib would serve a second purpose as a conversion to toddler day bed. That way, parents would not have to get another bed for some years to come.

When choosing a crib, make sure that this piece of eco-friendly nursery furniture is made of wood that is solid. If the wood has to be refinished, use paint or finish that is non-toxic. This will alleviate inhalation of any harmful chemicals. For a crib mattress, it’s best to get one that is made from organic cotton. This material will help to protect the baby from rashes and other skin irritations that may exist.

A bed that is made from natural solid birch wood would be a great piece of eco-friendly nursery furniture to have in the bedroom. This kind of wood makes the bed to stay strong and sturdy. Paint that is non-toxic is used to make the bed come to life. The material is of great quality and will last for a long time. If there are no younger siblings, then the parent could give it to someone else.

Another piece of eco-friendly nursery furniture that a baby can sleep in is a day bed. It’s easy to assemble and you don’t have to spend hours doing it. Also, if you need to change a rail, you can do so and put a shorter side panel it its place. Even though these may cost more than regular nursery furniture, you’re just not paying for the furniture itself. You’re also paying for the quality and assurance that your child can be free of any harmful toxins and chemicals that could harm them.

How To Determine If Organic Baby Clothes Are Genuine

In order to find out whether they are real or not, look at the manufacturer of the clothing. See what kinds of materials are used to make this organic clothing.

Before organic clothing came out, there was only children’s clothing that was made from toxic chemicals that were abrasive to the skin. Children that had sensitive skin were subject to skin rashes. Organic baby clothes help to keep a child’s skin protected from rashes and other skin related ailments.

There are so many chemicals that are used when making a regular t-shirt. Most, if not all of those chemicals are toxic and harmful. When choosing organic clothing for your baby or children, look for labels that say 100% organic fabric. This way, you’ll know that the organic baby clothes are not toxic or harmful in any way.

There are no pesticides used when making organic material. Also, you will not find any bleach products in organic baby clothes. Using that along with chlorine is very harmful for babies and children.

Natural resources are used when producing dyes for authentic organic fabric. Chemical dyes are another form of toxic ingredients that can be harmful. A lot of times, you won’t hear about these because they are hardly ever disclosed.

When a baby’s or children’s clothing is made from authentic organic cotton, their skin stays smooth and soft. Parents don’t have to concern themselves with their child getting skin irritations.

Avoid buying organic clothes that are a mixture of regular cotton and organic cotton. This would prove that the clothing is not made of 100% organic cotton products. It also defeats the purpose of getting the real thing.

Parents may have to pay a little more for organic baby clothes, but it will be worth it. They should want the best for their child and don’t back down because the prices are cheaper. Parents need to know that these clothes are genuine and that they do not come from sweatshops that have people working for extremely cheap labor.

Once you have found organic baby clothes that are of the best quality of 100% organic material, make it your mission to protect your child from imminent dangers that occur with clothing that has toxic materials.

What’s the best career for a work at home mom?

As someone experienced in this area, the answer is to work at home. I have been a stay at home mom for eleven years. Many of them successfully employed at home adding to our family’s income. But what does one do to work at home? There are so many work at home scams that just waste your money. Why not take advice from someone who is successfully working at home?

I have found building websites to be the perfect job for a stay at home moms. The hours are flexible, I can work while my children are napping or after they go to bed. Now that they are in school I can work while they are at school and still have time to volunteer in their classrooms and be home after school for them. You no longer need advanced computer skills to build websites with the programs they have available today. If you can read and follow directions, you can do it.

An information website provides an unlimited income potential. You do the work once and get paid over and over. You can sell products or sell advertising on your website. One thing I love about building websites is, when summer comes, I put my website on autopilot and can enjoy time with my kids and the income keeps coming in. When school starts again I can continue to add content and improve my sites.

It is also important to not completely loose yourself in your role as a mom. It is important to connect with other adults and have something of your own, instead of always just giving to others.

Is your child just a late talker or is it something more?

My daughter with apraxia could best be described as “consistently inconsistent”. As she grew, one day she could say certain words, the next day she couldn’t. She said “hi” for quite awhile, and then she stopped saying it. Her speech did not grow in a normal pattern. She generally said partial words, such as “ju” for juice. At age three she said about thirty partial words. She really didn’t begin to speak until age four and then it was in three to four word sentences. She also had issues with not having the ability to blow out her birthday candles, and singing was very difficult for her as she had trouble with fluency. She also had delays in fine motor skills and gross motor skills.

My son at age two also didn’t talk. We had him tested by a speech therapist who determined his language was approximately ten months delayed. His other growth and development tests were normal. He began speech therapy and acquired language in the normal way, however it was just slower than average. He experienced a “language explosion” which is something my daughter with apraxia never did. He was able to repeat words and consistently label items. By age thirty months his speech was retested to be only three months behind.

My son most likely would have talked without speech therapy, however after everything we had been through with my daughter we felt it would be best to have his language evaluated. My daughter would not have spoken normally without proper intervention. She required intensive speech therapy and additional therapies in order to recover from apraxia.

How Do You Pick The Correct Welding Shade For Different Types Of Welding?

For MIG and Flux core welding, do you need a differently rated shade. We have a # 10, and don’t know how to tell when we could need a darker shade like a 12 for example. Somewhere we read about looking at a bare light bulb to see if you can see the outline of it as an indicator of needing a darker shade. We are just learning about welding and would like to know when an auto darkening system is better and how to pick a good one.
