How To Become A Certified Welder?

What is the best way to become trained as a certified welder? I want a certificate that actually means something. Something that will actually get me a job.

If you are in the US and have welding experience all you have to do is take the cert test (actual welding). But be aware that it means nothing, any company that requires certs will also require you to recertify at hiring in. The certs only show that you are capable of certification. They are a plus for you but don’t think that you can certify and take it anywhere and not have to recertify again. It will help you get in the door before someone that is not certified. Good luck.
