Can You Use A Stick Welder Instead Of A Wire Feed Welder To Revive Ni-cad Batteries?

I seen a video on reviving a Ni-cad battery using a wire feed welder, I have a stick welder. Can that be used instead?

I viewed the video and it looks interesting. I’m going to try it. Wire feed welders are always DC or direct current and this may be a critical factor for this to work. Don’t know. Check your stick welder to see if its DC. Some are but most are AC.
